- Circus
Skill, Performing Art, Sport or Hobby, Whipcracking can be any of these
things.
- Is your hero Indiana Jones, Cat Woman or
Lash Larue? If you are interested in whips then this is the event for
you.
-
- If you are a novice who has never cracked
a whip before come and join us. Have fun practicing an exciting new
activity that's challenging, healthy and relatively cheap to get
started in. The sport is accessible to almost anyone regardless of
gender, age or physical ability. We have whips for you to borrow,if you
don't have your own; and you will go away from the day knowing enough to
progress further on you own. After that, you don't need huge amountsof
expensive coaching or equipment - just a whip, enough space to throw it,
and some common sense about safety.
-
- If you are an
experienced whipcracker, come and test your skills in the
competitions, learn new cracks or share your knowledge with fellow
whipenthusiasts.
-
- Please Note that reasonable
precautions will be taken as regards to safety but, as with any sport,
it is impossible to remove all risk. The organisers cannot beresponsible
for any injury that may occur during the convention. Please see our
safety page for information of suitable clothing etc for Convention
attendees.
-
- Please
remember that the Convention is a family-friendly
event.
-
- The
organisers reserve the right to suspend any participant from the
convention, if that participant places themselves or others at risk; or
behaves in aninappropriate manner.
-
-
- The British Whipcracking
Convention was founded in 2005 by Pete Gamble (pick n mix circus)
with the assistance of
- Dave Branch (English Whips).
-
- Major Horton took
over the planning and organisation of the event in 2006 and remains the driving force
of the British Whipcracking Convention.
-
